Welcome to the Poetry of Love!

Love has a language all its own—gentle, passionate, enduring. Here, we explore that language through poetry that celebrates love in all its forms: the joy of finding a soulmate, the strength of enduring bonds, and the courage to love again after heartbreak.

This is a place for reflection and connection, where words weave stories of tenderness, vulnerability, and triumph. Whether you’re reminiscing about a first love, savoring the beauty of a lasting relationship, or discovering love in unexpected places, these poems are for you.

Let your heart be moved, your spirit lifted, and your soul reminded of the power and beauty of love.

Dear Jonah

I’m sorry I never got to say goodbye,
to hold your hand, to meet your eyes.
Regret lingers like an evening tide,
pulling me back to the moments we tried.

I wish we had gone to the place you chose,
not turned away when the crowd had grown.
I wish we had walked by the ocean’s side,
felt the salt air, hearts open wide.

The zoo still waits with gates untold,
a place you longed to see unfold.
Two decades lost behind locked doors,
but I swore we’d make it—then time closed its doors.

Jonah, remember me, wherever you are,
beyond the sky, beyond the stars.
You had a heart both kind and true,
a faith unshaken, a soul renewed.

Yes, you stumbled, you lost your way,
but love and regret filled every day.
Some only see the past you bore,
but I saw the man, so much more.

I’m sorry, Jonah, for all we missed,
for love unfinished, for lips unkissed.
For words unsaid before you flew,
but please, my love—know I love you.

Equations of the Heart

She watched him struggle, pencil poised,
Numbers blurring in his mind,
A boy with eyes weighed down by grief,
A heart still trailing far behind.

“Stay after class,” she gently spoke,
“We’ll find a way, just you and me.”
And so they sat, with measured care,
Unraveling sums patiently.

His father waited by the door,
A man unshaven, eyes unsure,
His hands were wrung, his voice was thin,
A single parent, worn but pure.

“Thank you, Miss,” his words were soft,
“My boy’s been lost since she’s been gone.”
She saw the weight upon his chest,
A man still learning to move on.

Weeks passed by, the boy grew bright,
Laughter flickered in his face,
And in the quiet of goodbyes,
The father found a fragile grace.

A stammered pause, a nervous breath,
A dinner offered, meant to say,
“Not for romance, just my thanks,
For helping him along the way.”

She hesitated, wounds still fresh,
A love before had left its mark,
But in his gaze, so kind, so warm,
She saw no shadow, only spark.

A simple meal, a simple start,
Yet in their words, the past unwound,
Two broken hearts, now softly mended,
In healing stories they had found.

She came again, she stayed for tea,
His son beamed wide, the house felt light,
And step by step, the walls fell down,
As hope returned in love’s own right.

No rush, no force, just tender hands,
A friendship first, a bond sincere,
And when she laughed, he knew at last,
That love had found them, drawing near.

No perfect sums, no flawless proof,
Just patience, trust, and time to start—
Two wounded souls, a child’s bright joy,
And love, an equation of the heart.

 All I Ever Wanted

He was all I ever wanted, all I’d ever need,
A heart wide open, planting love like seed.
He saw me clear—flaws, dreams, and grace—
Loved every shadow, every light on my face.

For who I am, for who I’ve been,
For who I’ll be when years grow thin,
He held me close with gentle pride,
His love, a tide I couldn’t hide.

I trusted him, soul bared and true,
For in his gaze, the skies turned blue.
His every word, his every touch,
Spoke volumes deep—I felt so much.

It was beautiful, wild, and rare,
A sacred bond beyond compare.
I loved him for his truest core,
For who he was, and even more.

For who he’ll be in days ahead,
In whispered thoughts, in words unsaid.
He trusted me, no doubts to weigh,
For I proved my heart in every way.

In every dawn, in every sigh,
In moments low and spirits high,
Our love remains, bold and free—
A timeless echo: you and me.

A Timid Bride

Betrothed by word, not by her will,
To wealth and age, a union still.
Five moons away, her fate is tied,
Yet horror fills the would-be bride.

He sees her youth, her wary eyes,
His wealth, to her, a pale disguise.
He doubts his heart, yet dares to try,
To win her trust, before July.

Her laughter scarce, her voice withdrawn,
Her days of freedom nearly gone.
He brings her roses, books, and care,
But finds her heart a fortress there.

The days rush by, as fleeting rain,
Her dread persists, his hope remains.
And when the bells of union ring,
Her silence speaks of everything.

Yet when their lips in binding meet,
A spark ignites, both fierce and sweet.
She feels his soul, his steady light,
And warmth consumes her endless night.

A year has passed, their lives entwined,
A love once feared, now redefined.
Within her arms, their son now sleeps,
A bond unbroken, vast and deep.

The timid bride, the patient groom,
A tale of hearts that overcame gloom.
Through time and trust, their love did grow,
A garden sprung from fields of woe.

 Love of New Year's Eve

Beneath the frost-kissed twilight’s glow,
Where silver stars on soft winds flow,
We stand as winter’s whispers weave,
A tale of love this New Year’s Eve.

Your hand in mine, a gentle fire,
Kindles dreams, our hearts’ desire.
The snow beneath, the moon above,
A canvas painted by our love.

The clock ticks low, the hour is near,
Each chime a promise, loud and clear.
With every second, hearts entwine,
Your soul forever bound to mine.

The midnight sky bursts into light,
Fireworks dance through velvet night.
Their colors fade, but we remain,
Two hearts aglow in love’s refrain.

So here’s to us, to nights like these,
To whispered vows on winter’s breeze.
Another year, my love, with you—
A world reborn, a life anew.

 The Language of Us

The Language of Us

Your voice, a melody I’ve always known,
A gentle hum that feels like home.
In every glance, a story we weave,
In every touch, a truth I believe.

The world could fade, its noise subside,
Yet in your arms, my heart resides.
No need for words when love is clear,
A silent song only we can hear.

Your laughter, a light in the darkest sky,
A spark that teaches my soul to fly.
Through storms and calm, we’ve come so far,
My compass, my shelter, my guiding star.

Each moment with you, a chapter divine,
Of a book that’s written by your hand and mine.
Though time may pass, our love will stay,
A timeless vow, come what may.

For in your eyes, I see my place,
A love eternal, a boundless space.
No matter the road, no matter the sea,
You are my home, my destiny.

 The Bond We Share

The Bond We Share

You and I, a story untold,
A love so fierce, a bond of gold.
Through laughter, tears, and fleeting strife,
You are my heart, my guide in life.

From whispered talks to shared delight,
Dining out, or shows at night.
A mother’s care, a daughter’s smile,
Together we walk each joyful mile.

At doctor’s visits, you’re by my side,
A steady presence, my source of pride.
Through every clash, we’ve found our way,
For love speaks louder, come what may.

You catch my tears, I lift your heart,
In life’s great play, we each have a part.
Through every trial, through highs and lows,
Our friendship blooms, it only grows.

So here’s to us, to what we’ve built,
A bond unbroken, a love fulfilled.
Mother and daughter, a duo divine,
Forever linked, your hand in mine.

 Bridges of Us

Bridges of Us

From distant shores, we traveled paths unknown,
Two lives, two worlds, yet seeds of love were sown.
Your voice, a melody I’d never heard,
Spoke not of sameness but a truer word.

Where others saw lines, we traced the sky,
Painting constellations with a shared why.
Hands entwined, we built a bridge so wide,
No fear, no prejudice could divide.

Your laughter holds the warmth of distant lands,
Mine speaks in rhythms time understands.
Together, we are roots and wings combined,
A fusion of legacies, love redefined.

The food, the stories, the songs we blend,
A patchwork quilt with threads that never end.
Your family’s prayers, my ancestors’ dreams,
In us, they meet like rivers to streams.

We stand in a world that asks us why,
But love answers boldly, “Just look to the sky.”
For stars don’t care where their light began,
They shine as one, a universe’s plan.

So here we are, with hearts aglow,
A love that only the brave will know.
Our journey writes a story true—
Of bridges built by me and you.
